scanned from a xerox multifuction device, #1, 2018

Scanned from a Xerox Multifunction Device, #1 is the first iteration of a body of work comprised of scanned objects found throughout the Morton R. Godine Library at Massachusetts College of Art and Design. As an employee, I began collecting items returned in books, donated materials and found throughout spaces within the library. This piece is only a small collection of what has been collected over the course of a year. In creating space for this archive of strange and unrelated objects; reconstructing their size, quality and presentation, I work to both reinforce and challenge questions regarding utilization and longevity of libraries in spaces of academia. Forgotten objects and ephemera turn into the historicized proof of existence of users and visitors of the library.
