re-reading the alphabet (the abc’s of illiteracy) is an installation that speaks to the crisis of illiteracy. A set of flashcards displayed on small wooden shelves corresponds each letter of the English alphabet with a quote, fact or statistic about literacy and education. The installation is paired with an audio recording that reads each flash card and its complementary phrase out loud.
